Getting there

Getting around

Johannesburg has many transport options for all its visitors, a reasonably cheap option being its metropolitan bus service that provides a regular service into the city until 7pm. Although buses take longer to travel, they are known for their reliability and safety.

To get the most out of your visit and the opportunity for sightseeing and exploration, there are many tourist buses that offer access to all of Johannesburg’s main sights and attractions. This including but is not limited to the “Parktown”, “Gold Reef City” and “Soweto”.

If you consider yourself more of the independent traveler you have the option of renting a car. Johannesburg's International Airport offers an extensive variety of car rental companies operating from its very own grounds.

From the airport to Sandton you can now take the Guatrain, which is a new high speed train only opened in June 2010.
